Narrative Writing - Jasmine S

Last week in Literacy we had to write a narrative story based around a story starter video we watched called Roads End. We could write pretty much whatever we wanted as long as it was made of of the video. Here is my writing.

Roads End.

Samos held a hand out onto the spinning car wheel, bringing it slowly to a pause as the roar of a car came from around the corner. He turned to look at the car and sighed. “I should have known..” He mumbled as he held out a thumbs up. This was the third time he had done this and each time it was for this same car, he had come to know that the owner was called Stan. He watched as the car came to a stop next to him and the balding man craned his head to see him. “Are you..” He seemed to pause, Samos guessed he might be starting to find him familiar. “alright?” Samos had learnt the second time that he lasted longer if he didn’t say a word so he just stared at the man through his misty goggles. Stan looked to be concerned. “There’s a station up the road I can take you there?” He opened the door. Samos got in and wrote a note which read ‘Keep your eyes on the road.’ He gave it to the man and sat in silence. Stan seemed shocked but he said nothing.

4 truths 1 lie - Jasmine S

 Can you guess the lie?

1-  I used to try to suffocate my cat.

2- I broke my arm a week after getting a cast off on that same arm.

3- I have been stung by a bee several times, the first being when I was 6.

4- My favourite colour is Green, specifically mint green.

5- I don't know how to cook.

Leave a comment letting me know which one you think is a lie! See you next time!

Blog Profile - Jasmine.

This week in cyber smarts we made had to make a copy of a slide about creating a Blog Profile which we then filled out. Here is my slide.

Enlargement art - Jasmine S

This week in maths we have been creating enlargements of cartoon characters. First we had to print out a smallish black and white picture of our cartoon character of choice, we then had to rule out squares squares across the character as even as we could get them. I made mine one centimetre wide as it was easier in my opinion. We then had to figure out how much we were to enlarge it by, I enlarged mine by six centimetres. Next we had to draw up the character to try and make it look like a bigger version of the picture we printed out, once we did that we coloured it in, cut off the paper that didn't get used and glue it onto a brown piece of paper.
As you can see I drew Sylvester from Looney Tunes. I found this activity really fun to do as I enjoy drawing especially when I have some choice in what it is. I found this difficult to do at the start since it took awhile to get used to drawing in a different way than usual and trying to make sure everything was in the right place and looked right but as I started to get about halfway of doing each part it became quite easy to figure out and draw. I really recommend trying this out as it was really fun to make!
