Warrior cats - The Last Hope.

The end of the stars draws near. Three must become four to battle the darkness that lasts forever....
The Last Hope | Warrior Cats
(Just to make sure that any of this makes sense to someone who hasn't read or heard of the books before I am going to quickly explain a bit about the things in the books as they need past knowledge to understand properly)
Medicine Cats - Cat doctor, knowledge with herbs(medicine) and they have a connection with starclan.
Starclan -  Pretty much cat heaven but only for clan cats. They live in a forest that only ever has summer and an endless amount of prey. All cats from different clans live in peace here.
Clans - Four large groups of cats who worship the stars/starclan. (Names of clans: Shadow clan, Thunder clan, River clan and Wind clan)
Dark forest - A misty forest with no prey or stars, evil clan cats go here when they die instead of going to Starclans hunting grounds.

Okay with that out of the way let's talk about this book. The last hope is the last book of the 4th arc of Warriors by Erin hunter, arc 4 being called 'Omen of the stars', so uh yeah, sorry about spoilers, you have been warned. In this book we have the point of view of four characters from Thunderclan, Jayfeather, Lionblaze, Dovewing and Ivypool. Jayfeather is Thunderclan's blind medicine cat and the brother of Lionblaze, they are part of a prophecy along with Dovewing that was sent to their clans leader, Firestar, that said 'There will be three, kin of your kin, who hold the power of the stars in their paws', this prophecy give Jayfeather the ability to sense other cats emotions and enter their dreams. Lionblaze gets the power to never be beaten in battle and Dovewing has the ability to see and hear things from really far away, she can even hear everything that goes on on the other side of the lake that live next to. In this book Jayfeather, Lionblaze and Dovewing have been sent a new prophecy that tells them three must become four so they are desperately searching for the fourth cat of the prophecy. They are also preparing against a battle against the dark forest where Ivypool, Dovewing's sister, has been spying when she goes their in her dreams to be trained for the battle. The cats of the dark forest have been training the living clan cats, lying to them to make them believe they aren't doing anything wrong. Ivypool knows they are training for a battle to destroy the clans. The dark forest has started taking it's trainees into the living world to get to know all the different clans territories and tells the trainees they are getting to know the other territories so that the trainees can help each other in any territory if needed, they are really looking for the best ways to ambush the clans and Ivypool sees right through it. The dark forest cats manage to force her into telling all the other trainees all about Thunderclans techniques in battle. I won't go to far in describing the rest of the book but I'll give a brief summary of the main points. The medicine cats have been avoiding each other on starclans demand, starclan is scared and has separated into different territories like how they were when they were alive. Jayfeather finds a way to reunite the medicine cats along with Starclan. At the same time it is revealed to him that Firestar is the fourth cat. Firestar and Jayfeather get all the other medicine cats to meet them at the island where they have their gatherings. Firestar brings Jayfeather, Lionblaze and Dovewing and makes them reveal to the clan leaders the prophecy and their powers, after that Firestar makes a plan with the other leaders to battle against the dark forest as one and the battle begins shortly after resulting in the clans victory.

I found that this book was a good ending to the fourth arc, especially since the third and fourth arc were both revolved around the prophecy. So although it was good and I really enjoyed it I did find a few irritating things within it, mainly how slow the book, along with the other five books from the arc, seemed like their was a lot of running in circles to fill the book and make it the right length which made it quite slow, the rest of the time I was usually just annoyed about something they could have written a bit better but that didn't make the book bad and it did a good job at the start to paint up the mood for the book. I did believe that the battle against the dark forest had seemed a little bit to easy to win but I think they did good at conveying the characters emotions through out it regardless, especially at the start. The characters were written quite well in my opinion and I was happy to silently root for them as I read about their frustrations. It was a good conclusion and I'm excited to read the next arc.

Narrative Writing - Jasmine S

Last week in Literacy we had to write a narrative story based around a story starter video we watched called Roads End. We could write pretty much whatever we wanted as long as it was made of of the video. Here is my writing.

Roads End.

Samos held a hand out onto the spinning car wheel, bringing it slowly to a pause as the roar of a car came from around the corner. He turned to look at the car and sighed. “I should have known..” He mumbled as he held out a thumbs up. This was the third time he had done this and each time it was for this same car, he had come to know that the owner was called Stan. He watched as the car came to a stop next to him and the balding man craned his head to see him. “Are you..” He seemed to pause, Samos guessed he might be starting to find him familiar. “alright?” Samos had learnt the second time that he lasted longer if he didn’t say a word so he just stared at the man through his misty goggles. Stan looked to be concerned. “There’s a station up the road I can take you there?” He opened the door. Samos got in and wrote a note which read ‘Keep your eyes on the road.’ He gave it to the man and sat in silence. Stan seemed shocked but he said nothing.

2- I broke my arm a week after getting a cast off on that same arm.

3- I have been stung by a bee several times, the first being when I was 6.

4- My favourite colour is Green, specifically mint green.

5- I don't know how to cook.

Leave a comment letting me know which one you think is a lie! See you next time!

Blog Profile - Jasmine.

This week in cyber smarts we made had to make a copy of a slide about creating a Blog Profile which we then filled out. Here is my slide.

Enlargement art - Jasmine S

This week in maths we have been creating enlargements of cartoon characters. First we had to print out a smallish black and white picture of our cartoon character of choice, we then had to rule out squares squares across the character as even as we could get them. I made mine one centimetre wide as it was easier in my opinion. We then had to figure out how much we were to enlarge it by, I enlarged mine by six centimetres. Next we had to draw up the character to try and make it look like a bigger version of the picture we printed out, once we did that we coloured it in, cut off the paper that didn't get used and glue it onto a brown piece of paper.
As you can see I drew Sylvester from Looney Tunes. I found this activity really fun to do as I enjoy drawing especially when I have some choice in what it is. I found this difficult to do at the start since it took awhile to get used to drawing in a different way than usual and trying to make sure everything was in the right place and looked right but as I started to get about halfway of doing each part it became quite easy to figure out and draw. I really recommend trying this out as it was really fun to make!

Jupiter

This week for topic we had to choose a planet that wasn't Earth to do research about. I chose Jupiter since I already had an interest in that planet and knew a few things about it. Here is my research.

I had a lot of fun doing this research and learnt a lot about Jupiter that I hadn't known before.

What am I most proud of? - Jasmine S

I find that I am most proud of my improvement in art during the last two or three years as I have been pushing myself more, actually trying to do backgrounds in some drawings and I have changed some small things in my art style so that it looks better. A small few things I want to start trying to do more is colouring my art more frequently and work on drawing bodies and poses. Either way I am proud of my improvement and can only hope I get better and better.

In this picture I have two of my OCs (Original characters) which are called Amy and Levin, I put them into a more medieval fantasy kind of setting as well which I thought was really cool. I am really proud of this drawing because of 1 my art style became like WAY better than usual when making this drawing which I sadly couldn't recreate. And two is this is one of the few drawings I have that actually has a background.

This drawing was mainly just inspired by a drawing I saw on Instagram that I really liked but I thought it turned out okay and ended up really liking it.

In this drawing I turned one of my OCs and one of my friends OCs into Five Nights At Freddy's animatronics. I really liked the way the colours look and I had a lot of fun drawing them.

This is a picture of one of my dragon OCs called Acen. I love the way he turned out! I put a lot of work trying to get his shape right although I think I could improve on drawing wings. I really liked his colouring as well.

Thanks for checking out my blog! I hope this post was somewhat interesting and I hope to see you next time!

Information Report - Jasmine S

This week for our writing task we had to fill out an information report on three different animals which were the Panda, Kangaroo and the Lion. We were lucky and already had the statement and conclusion filled out meaning we only had to do the research. Here is my work.

(The last bit of the Kangaroos says increases to 20. Sorry I couldn't fix it)
I really enjoyed this activity as it was very interesting and fun to research about since I like animals. (especially Pandas and Kangaroos) Thanks for checking out my blog and I hope to see you next time!

My favourite book - Jasmine S

Mapleshade's Vengeance | Warrior Cats

A small amount of time before lock down I had read a book called Mapleshade's Vengeance. This book is a super addition from the Warrior Cats series and is about a Thunder Clan she-cat (female cat) called Mapleshade. In these books there are four clans, Thunder Clan, Shadow Clan, Wind Clan and River Clan, Mapleshade was a Thunder Clan cat who had kits with a River Clan cat called Appledusk. She ends up having a daughter and two sons with him which is forbidden. I really liked this book because of the story it tells. The main character a.k.a Mapleshade losing her kits and avenging those who brought them to their cruel demise. I also really liked all the characters in the story, they all had proper personalities that sticked around until the end of the book and made them really interesting and/or great characters. I also really liked all the descriptive writing the book had it really painted a good picture in my head.
Mapleshade's Vengeance is one of favourite books out of the ones I have read and I really recommend reading it! Thanks for checking out my blog and I hope to see you next time!

Egyptian God Portrait - Jasmine S

Recently I drew a picture of one of the Egyptian gods for one of my Ancient Egypt activities. The god I chose to draw was Anubis as I have a weird explainable fascination with him for some reason. For this activity we also had to put facts about the god we chose around the picture which I found really fun to do since it is actually quite interesting. Here is my drawing.

I enjoyed this activity because I like drawing already and found out interesting things about Anubis and a few other gods, not to mention Ammit actually seems quite interesting to me as well and I wouldn't have known about her without searching for things about Anubis. I would recommend looking into the ancient Egypt gods as they are more interesting than you'd think. Thanks for checking out my blog and I hope to see you next time!

Sugar Skull Drawing - Jasmine S

This week for one of our tasks we could either draw/digitally create a sugar skull or make a sugar skull pizza. I choose to draw one as I like drawing more than the other two options. Here is my sugar skull.
I at first had a bit of trouble drawing as I'm not used to drawing skulls but once I got the basic idea for what it was gonna look like it became a lot easier. In the end I had a lot of fun drawing my sugar skull and ended being quite happy with how it turned out. I really recommend giving this a go and I hope to see you again on my next blog post!

Observe and Notice - Jasmine S

This week one of our writing tasks required us make a writing piece where we observe and notice a thing of our choice. I decided to write about a misty forest. Here is my work.

I enjoyed writing this piece because I just genuinely enjoy writing somewhat descriptive short things like this so I had fun writing. I recommend having a go at this and thank you for checking out my blog, I hope to see you next time.

A Special Place - Jasmine S

During lock down one of our tasks has been to write about a special place to us. For this task we had to visualise our special place for our readers. I had a bit of trouble choosing what place was the best choice for me but in the end I chose my room, here is my work.

I found this activity quite interesting to do as I seem to overlook what places I find special, but even with that I still had fun writing about my special place and recommend giving it a go!

Thanks for checking out my blog and I hope to see you next time!

Hide and Seek - Jasmine S

This week we had a writing task called Hide and Seek. For this writing task we had to recall a time we have been playing a game of Hide and Seek or Spotlight and use describing words and the 5 senses.

I wrote about a time me and some of my family members played Spotlight when we were staying in Motueka for new years. I did have a bit of trouble fitting the senses in but I still enjoyed writing and would recommend giving it a go yourself.

Thank you for checking out my blog and I hope to see you next time.

Memory Poems - Jasmine S

Today we made another poem called a Memory Poem. As the name suggests it's based around a memory of your own. I decided to write about me going out to play in the snow when I lived in Christchurch. Here is my Poem.

I enjoyed making this poem for what reason I am not to sure but it was fun to make so I guess that could be part of it. I recommend trying to make a Memory Poem they are really easy and fun to make.

Hope to see you next time and thank you for checking out my blog.

Colour poems

Hello and welcome back to my blog! Today I am blogging about colour poems. We had to write a poem about colours using our five senses. Here are mine.

I found making these poems really fun! Mainly because I didn't have to rhyme which I'm not bad at but particularly great at either. I also found for whatever reason I really just genuinely enjoyed writing these poems to the point I went home and wrote more. I actually would really like to recommend trying to write one of these poems! They are really fun to make!

Thanks for checking out my blog and I hope to see you again next time!

Identity Poem - Jasmine - T1W3 2020

Last week we made an Identity Poem following a structure that Miss Hines found for us. Here is mine.

After we write down all of the poem we added pictures that were to do with our Identity Poem. I found this writing task easy and fun to do since we didn't have to make it like your usual poem which I struggle at writing. I also enjoyed putting all the pictures in because I got to put Rara around 'hiding' everywhere which I think is a good touch to this post.

Have you ever made an Identity Poem and if so what did you think of it? Thanks for checking out my blog hope to see you a
